Floriculture
Cultivation details
- 74 hectares of available arable land in the vicinity of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
- 30 hectares of land under cultivation with an additional capacity of 18 hectares
- Cultivation with best yields at altitudes ranging from 2350 – 2650 meters
- Cultivation at 2650 meters the highest altitude for any farm in Africa
- Total production capacity of 24 million stems.
- Cultivating the best T – hybrids that are on par with the best
- Marketing primarily done through auctions at FloraHolland, Amsterdam and direct customers in Japan, Middle east and Europe.
- Cultivation at Holetta flowers, Alliance flowers, Dream flowers and Oromia Wonders Plc.
- World class propagation facility established at Oromia where plant materials are produced for its sister companies and other growers.
- Can propagate 3 hectares of planting material simultaneously at Oromia Wonders in a cycle of 42 days, enabling approximately 40% reduction in the cost of plant materials.
Agriculture
- 4000 hectares of land acquired 300 Km from Addis Ababa to foray into Agriculture
- Cultivation to begin with rice and pulses with sugarcane planned for cultivation in the subsequent phases.
